Alero, also known as Alero Financial Credit Union, is a not-for-profit financial co-op.
As a credit union, we offer all the same products and services as a bank, but we're different.
Instead of being motivated by profits, we're a mission-driven organization that exists to empower everyday people.
Alero was founded in 1939 in Chicago by 15 employees of Automatic Electric, who wanted to build on an idea to pool their money and lend to one another at lower rates than banks.
This concept of empowerment is the foundation of our member-owned credit union, which is fueled by a vision of making a meaningful difference in the financial lives of our members.
Today, we partner with employers across the U.S. to provide free financial wellness services, discounted loans, and better savings rates to their employees at no cost to them.

Everyone has money questions. Alero is your one-stop financial wellness resource to get your questions answered.

How? Get started by scheduling your totally free Money Compass financial coaching session with one of our certified financial wellness counselors. These short appointments can be done by phone or video call. They offer a totally confidential, nonjudgmental safe space for asking literally any money question you want.

Once the app is downloaded, remember to enroll in eStatements so you can access your statements anytime and anywhere!
Though your employer will ultimately establish direct deposit of your paycheck, we can help you get started with this direct deposit form.
Simply fill out and save this form as a .pdf and email it to your payroll administrator.
Be sure to have your CAFCU member number handy if you don't have it memorized.
You'll also need to indicate your preferred account (checking or savings).
Once your employer processes the direct deposit request, you will be able to see if it went through by logging into digital banking.
Please note that this form is just a courtesy to make it easier for our members to establish direct deposit with your paycheck. Your employer may have their own form or process for establishing direct deposit.
If they do not, you may also be able to simply contact your HR department directly with CAFCU's routing number (271987075) and your member number as your account number to initiate the request.

Fixed-Rate Mortgages:  With a fixed-rate mortgage from CAFCU, your interest rate won't change over the life of your mortgage, meaning your principal and interest payments will remain constant. If interest rates rise, you won't be affected.

Mortgage Refinancing: Refinancing a mortgage from another financial institution can possibly lower your monthly payments, allowing you to pay off your loan faster. Many people refinance to convert an adjustable-rate mortgage to a fixed-rate loan. When you refinance, you also have the option to use the equity in your home to consolidate debt or pay for education, vacations, home improvements, and much more.
First Time Home Buyer Mortgages:   Are you looking to buy your first home? This program is designed to make homeownership more affordable for borrowers getting their first mortgage.
